Thanks for checking in 🙂
If you’ve been missing my stuff, I’m sorry!
Please know, I’ve jumped back into things and will be ready to give you a constant feed of content for the foreseeable future – very soon.
So, I wanted to jump on today and give you a bit of an update on what I’ve been reflecting on and all the exciting stuff I have planned for the blog over the next year!
Last year, during the year from hell, before my Endo got so bad I couldn’t do anything at all, I tried to start my own business that I could run from home, (and in bed).
Quickly realising how much work it actually took to run it, (not to mention trying to deal with daily horrid pain and regular trips to the hospital) – I hit burn out real quick.
So, when my Endo started to become a little more manageable again, I knew I wanted to start an Endo blog and share everything that’s helping me.
BUT, I also knew I had to do it RIGHT so I wouldn’t get overwhelmed and hit burn out again.
The problem is – I’m a massive perfectionist who puts way too much pressure on herself.
Oh yeah, and pretty bad Endo, so there’s that too.
When I started spending money to make the blog & YouTube the very best it can be – I knew I had to start finding a way to cover the costs.
That’s when I realised how out of my depth I really was, and realised I needed to do some research on influencer marketing, website management, content creation and copy writing for SEO.
(If you’re interested in blogging feel free to ask me what all those crazy words mean in the comments, i just didn’t want to get too deep into that stuff yet – especially while I’’m still learning myself!)
I reallllly don’t want to scare you off with that word, ‘influencer’.
I’m not trying to be your typical wanky self-absorbed insta model who blasts promos of teeth whitening kits and some tea made in the hills of Thailand and blessed by a monk from a Shaolin Temple.
I’m also not trying to gain some kind of influential-power over you using secret, magic, mind-warping marketing techniques.
What I AM trying to do is to build a platform that can one day, (hopefully) be used collaborate with brands and products that I love and bring me joy on my not-so-great endo days, (providing sweat discounts and deals for you in the process)
That way, I can cover the costs of running the website/blog, making videos on YouTube, trying new products, treatments and specialists, AND do heaps more giveaways for you too!
Know, I’ll always stick to My Vows and never promote something I don’t personally use and love.
So, you might see me promoting products from time-to-time, but if I start to annoy you at all – PLEASEEEEEEE let me know so I can chill on the promotional stuff a bit for you.
What’s Coming Up
I’m starting out with some support-type blog posts this month, which I think are super important for you and need to be published ASAP.
I’ll also be working on all the back-end stuff to help me look totes legit and profesh to the businesses I’d like to colab with in the future. Getting all this stuff sorted up front will leave me to focus on nothing but creating helpful and entertaining content for you, forever ❤
Throughout July, I’ll be re-vamping ALL my previous blog posts to make them easier to read and navigate, (including a massive structural change to My Remedies, so stay tuned!).
After re-vamping my previous blog posts, I’ll be re-posting them each week through August, (while I finish off all the back-end stuff).
In a recent Instagram survery, some of you expressed you’re interested in blogging and want to know a little more about what it entails.
If you know me, you probably know I’m allllll about Queens supporting Queens! So, I’m down to share anything and everything!
If you’re thinking of starting a Blog or YouTube and want to see all the “back end” stuff I’m doing, over the next few months, check out my Facebook.
I’ll be posting daily stories and updates on what I’m doing for the blog/YouTube, why I’m doing it and how I’m doing it, so I hope to see you there!
It’s going to take me A LOT more work, so if not enough people are into it, I may not continue with it for very long – but I’ll be giving it a good run throughout July to see how it goes.
I’ve also created a plan to work on some E-Books for you!
I’ll be trying to release one each month for a whole year starting in October.
It will be more work and a bit more in expenses as well, so while I may need to charge for them, I’m aiming to stick around the $2-$3 price point for each one. I’ll also be ensuring a portion of the proceeds goes to an Endo research or support charity.
If you want to be one of the first to hear more, stay tuned for a mailing list launching in August, (and a giveaway to celebrate).
If you have any comments/feedback on the pricing of the E-books or anything else, please drop a comment below, reach out on social media or flick me an email, (email@example.com)
One last thing I wanted to mention – one of the other things that was starting to overwhelm me, was the amount of messages I was getting each day asking for support.
I have been in a position where no-one was helping me, (with an average of 10 years to be diagnosed, I don’t doubt for a second that every Endo Queen has felt like this).
Which is why I decided to grow some lady-balls and become my own health advocate.
Dealing with endo is hard and being your own biggest support system is the only thing that’s going to get you through this. Sorry, but you can blame your uterus, not me.
While I’d love to be able to be an advocate for every endo queen, I simply don’t have the capability or a functioning body to do it.
What I CAN do is point you in the right direction for 24/7 on-call support, which is why I’ve created an article on Support Groups, which will be finalised and posted at the end of this week.
It’s really important for my own recovery that I use mindfulness to stay positive and keep myself empowered, so I’ve set some new boundaries, which you can read about in My Vows.
I don’t want to scare you off and have you thinking I’m never available for you though!
If you have a question about something I’ve talked about, my Endo journey or me, please feel free to reach out!
I mean it when I say I’m an open book, I’m just not google, a qualified medical professional or a personal assistant for the world. I’m simply a girl with Endo, just trying to share what’s helping me 🙂
Setting boundaries isn’t something I’ve ever done, but I’m excited to try a new way of being proactive with my health, both physical and mental.
I really hope you understand and don’t take it in a negative/nasty way at all.
Thanks again for checking in today Queen, I hope I’ve got you a little excited for what’s coming up. Also low-key hoping I haven’t scared you off with my new boundaries.
Sending love, hugs and pain-free days,
❤ BB xx
Just wanted to give a HUGE thanks to everyone who’s sent kind messages during my little break.
I’d had some feedback about my blog and YouTube not being so great, so hearing you like my stuff and want me to keep going really helped to motivate me to make the changes I need to and get me back on my feet!
Endo is such a crappy disease, but it really does build the strongest, most resilient, caring and supportive Queens in the world.
I’d honestly be happy as a clam without the disease, but I’m so grateful for the community it’s given me – so for that, I can’t exactly hate it, can I?
